This is a repeat post from August 18 for all those who missed my notice on publication plans for the rest of August.
I’m going to use the next couple of weeks to try to make a big dent in my backlog of updates for the Jubak Picks 50 portfolio from my book. When I published that book in December, the goal was to update all the picks on a regular basis (whatever that meant.) In the transition to this blog that goal got away from me. I’m going to post a couple of updates a day for the next two weeks to try to catch up.
That’s going to take me away from some of the other tasks on this blog so I may be commenting a bit less and with more of a delay.
(Contrary to popular rumor the fact that I’m traveling in Spain for the next three weeks has absolutely nothing to do with any slacking off in my comments. I don’t know how rumors like that get started.)
We drove from Granada to Ronda this past Saturday. I passed several wid farms. Interestingly one was still under construction with a huge crane working to put the turbine up on its pile. The contrast with the state of residential and commercial construction in Spain was stunning. There’s very little work being done on the hundreds of uncompleted projects that you can see in any city and across the countryside. When I get back I want to take a look at Iberdrola, the big Spanish utility. I lost track of the company in the midst of all its acquisitions and reorganizations over the last 12 months. They had put a huge bet on wind.
Jim,
Forget about reading this blog. Enjoy some tapas with jerez and have a great vacation.
Jim, I am so glad I found you again. Missed you dearly. Thanks for all the picks over the last year.
Enjoy Spain
ole
Jim, once you mentioned Spain, can you update us on the status of the solar cell market (FSLR and others). It seems like competition is picking up, while demand is not as high as it was anticipated a year ago.
jimgilbert2000,
Yes, I’m getting it also when trying to read https://jubakpicks.com/jubak-picks-50/ in Opera 10.00 Beta 2 . I haven’t tried it in another browser, but it usually is a browser problem. Try reading it in a reasonably new version of IE or Firefox, which is what the developers usually test most. (They should write strictly according to W3C standards, of course, which should work almost perfectly in almost all browsers, but…. )
Good luck.
C.
Jim, when i click on 50 picks i get only part of the page. the right margiin is cutting off part of the read. anybody else having this problem?
As an appreciation of your recommended reads, I would like to recommend Arturo Perez Reverte in return – if you haven’t already discovered him. He reads of Spain like great fish taste of sea. Have a good time!
jim enjoy yourself. Maybe as you look out from your cafe you will become inspired with some solar and wind stocks
have a great one!
Jim have a great time in Spain! I get to work there Sept 1. Brilliant place!
