NBCUniversal will license content from Lions Gate for its Peacock streaming service, due to launch in April 2020. Peacock will have access to the existing Lions Gate catalog and will also license content to STARZ for Lions Gate’s international streaming service. Financial terms of the agreement weren’t announced by the two companies.
This is Lions Gate’s second streaming content deal in the last few months. Back in November the company announced a deal with Amazon (AMZN) that would enable customers on Amazon’s Prime Video to access Lions Gate’s recently released and upcoming feature films. That deal begins in January 2020.
