Expect Big Tech earnings reports and more earnings reports this week.. All capped on Friday with the October jobs report, the last one before the November 7 meeting of the Federal Reserve on interest rates. (Which means that the Fed will be in its blackout period before the meeting–so no Fed speeches.) And, just for good measure, third quarter GDP figures are due Wednesday, October 30, and PCE inflation numbers are scheduled for Thursday, October 31.

Tuesday, October 29, earnings from Alphabet (GOOG), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Visa (V), McDonald’s (MCD), Pfizer (PFE), and Chipotle (CMG).

Wednesday, October 30, earnings from Microsoft (MSFT), Meta Platforms (META), and Eli Lilly (LLY).

Thursday, October 31, earnings from Apple (AAPL), Amazon (AMZN), Mastercard (MA), Intel (INTC), and Merck (MRK).

Friday, November 1, earnings from Exxon Mobil (XOM) and Chevron (CVX).

Expectations watch: The October Jobs Report will be released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics before the market open on Friday. Economists forecast the economy added 120,000 jobs during the month, and expect that the unemployment rate will hold steady at 4.1%.
