The New York Stock Exchange is closed tomorrow December 24 in observance of Christmas.
I’m taking a slightly longer break.
My sites, JubakPicks.com and Jubakam.com, will be dark from December 24 until January 3 for caroling, wassailing, Christmas present wrapping and unwrapping, and general frolics with friends.
I wish everyone a merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years. And I look forward to digging into the markets again with you in 2011. It promises to be a very interesting (groan) year.
The cost approach to determining value is to estimate what it would cost to replace or reproduce the improvements as of the date of the appraisal, less the physical deterioration, the functional obsolescence and the economic obsolescence. The remainder is added to the land value.
Jim, hope you have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. Just wanted to echo the comments that we appreciate you. I keep adding to JUBAX as one of my core holdings. Many thanks.
Jim,
Couple of years back i was still very new to the stockmarket, i researched a lot on the internet for some useful resources. Its then i came across your articles on MSNs website and was immediately glued to your analysis and have ever since been following you.
I would like to thank you for sharing your ideas with us and Wish you a Merry Christmas & Happy holidays.
And a bottle of rum! I resolved that 2010 would be the year where I would entrust my portfolio to Jim in an attempt to get “back to even” (or at least close to it!). He had a good enough track record to prove that he was not just another media talking head. His cogent essays persuaded me that he looked deeper than others. And the trust was vindicated by excellent results. A JCI or an Ambev or Coach were not exactly obvious picks. And I suppose if I had trusted more — instead of for example selling part of my ABV postion prematurely — I could have rung up larger gains, but the fact that I participated at all this year was due to Jim’s conviction that money could be made and that the market would not collapse. Thanks for your guidance, Jim!
Jim and all others– Merry Christmas and thank you for all your wit and wisdom
Jim and all – Merry Christmas and a Happy, hopefully prosperous, 2011!
Jim, as a single income family living on my teacher’s income I have to rely on making my money work for me. Thanks for your insight and wisdom and doing the grunt work for which I so clearly wouldn’t have the time for. Your perspectives have helped me make the right choices for my short and long term portfolios on so many occasions. Merry Christmas and God Bless.
