Both Bloomberg and CNBC are reporting that Qualcomm (QCOM) and NXP Semiconductor (NXPI) have agreed to a acquisition at a price of $110 for each share of NXP Semiconductors. That’s within the range that I flagged in my earlier post “Can Qualcomm steal NXP Semiconductor?” http://jubakpicks.com/14139-2/ on this acquisition that would give Qualcomm access to the fast growing automobile semiconductor market in the long-term and that would in the short-term add immediately to earnings.
The stories both noted that there remain details to work out but speculated that the deal could be announced this week.
Qualcomm is scheduled to announce earnings on November 2.
Qualcomm is a member of my Dividend portfolio.
