Like Enbridge Energy Partners, Oneok Partners (OKS) has been on an expansion binge. But this company’s efforts have centered on the under-served Rockies. The Overland Pass Pipeline project came online in November 2008. This year the company has added the Arbuckle Pipeline and the Piceance Lateral Pipeline. Oneok has gradually been moving away from its historic focus on shipping natural gas to the United States from Canada because with the development of Canada’s oil sands resources more Canadian natural gas is staying home to be used in turning bitumen into oil. Oneok Partners now looks much more toward the natural gas fields of the Rockies and transporting that gas to markets in the Midwest and East. The yield as of October 14, 2009 was 7.8%
