Merry Christmas everyone!
And with the financial markets in New York closed early (1 p.m. New York time) for Christmas and volume on the Standard & Poor’s 500 stocks 35% below the 30-day average, it’s time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
I’ve just finished putting the lights up on our tree at home. Yesterday I tried to beat the rush at Toys R Us (fat chance!) but I did manage to cross off the last items on my list. Times Square was mobbed with out of towners with kids in tow and everyone seemed headed to the big tree in Rockefeller Center. Santa even delivered a few snowflakes.
The site is now dark for the holiday but I’ll be back posting on Wednesday as we all wait in suspense (not really) to see what Congress will do about the fiscal cliff. (And if you’re wondering about the photo with this post, those are physical cliffs in Chile.)

Merry Christmas, Jim, to you and the family.
This page just jogged my memory that I should send you a donation. I do this regularly with the “Brain Science Podcast”, and ought to start with Wikipedia also. Feed the children and anything to do with under-developed nations is now right off my llist. Should not have overpopulated.
I donate to causes that make me and my nation safer.
You certainly do that, in the face of a myriad of threats.
Merry Christmas. Knowledge makes us all safer.
A Very Merry Christmas to you and yours!!
Enjoy!

Marry Christmas and have happy and Healthy Holidays to you and your Family.
Merry Xmas to one and all. (As Bender “bending” Rodriguez says, the “X” makes it cool.) Alternatively, here’s the non-denominational greeting my daughter and her friend came up with: Have a happy winter, but only if you want.
JJ:
It was a fine column and a great photo. Those are the type of “cliffs” we can all enjoy.
Best wishes to all of us for 2013.
