I am late to the party here but is it not possible that knowledge of this coming dilution is already priced into the shares? I think it is. I also think Ford and Lynas are in such different asset classes that a comparison beyond a balance sheet analysis is not of much value unless you have money to buy only one stock. The potential operating leverage is tremendous for Ford when pent up demand for new vehicles finally explodes into much higher total new car sales. I imagine that the shares will overshoot their true value on the way up just as much as they did on the way down. As Cramer would say....buy buy buy...but don't forget to sell in stages when you have those fat profits!

Jim, you must have read my mind! I had read yesterday about Ford's coming debt offering. I bought in the $2 range a year ago, and was considering selling within the next week or so, and then possibly buying back in after the dilution next month, assuming it will drop more than the 4% (I would anticipate a drop into the $6 range or so) - thoughts?

Hi Jim - you have best investing advice on the web!

So I've been reading your posts about the Dollar carry trade and how it is pushing up the price of commodities and foreign currencies higher. In the short term would rising US intrest rates signal a sell of Lynas. In the long term do you think major commodity drop or a reversal of the dollar carry trade would just signal another opportunity to buy Lynas.
