Jim..your articles are a boon for us all..I used to try to find you on the MSN site, with difficulty, since it is not really user friendly and I like your daily emails from your own site. My question is, how are you remunerated for all this?..Do you offer a special portfolio advice service, or is this all altruistic?

I do not believe the growth number are REAL. They are strongly assisted by stimulus $$$ to make it look like the economy is better that what it really is. Watch when all the stimulus $$$ is gone then judgement can be passed if this growth exists during that future quarter. It is easy to analyze for me how can there be massive unemployment, foreclosures, home price drops AND the economy be so rosy?

The bad news is that all the stimulus hasn't been paid out.
The good news is that all the stimulus hasn't been paid out.
As the stimulus keeps dribbling out the economy will keep creeping forward. Congress seams determined to keep rolling out programs to prop up the economy.
Where it will end, I don't know, but I think it's better to stumble forward then fall backward.

OK Jim. We got a bit of a bounce today. Put me in the skeptical corner on recovery in the US. I'm looking at utility stocks. As a safe move. They haven't moved up like the commodity, tech, banks etc. I prefer owning something tangible when inflation catches on. What do you think? I own a bit of ED now, but the cap and trade issue remains. Thanks for all you do.
